If you can call it a Summer!

I have had a few things on over the last couple of months… Southbank Arts Trail, Spike Island Show, building a website and featuring in a Pop up Shop as well as moving house and pregnancy!!

Here are a few new designs ‘I love to ride my bicycle’ is proving to be very popular in card and print version so I am going to be printing these in A5 and A4 and different colours – if you are interested in buying one then please get in touch, I am going to do a few more of these on similar themes (where you can’t help but humm the tune as well).

Spring

Spring is finally here and I have been busy working on wedding stationery commissions which has been lovely and hard work… pictures to follow. Other Spring news – my website is finally under construction! watch this space for more information but I am happy this is well underway now.

Folksy – Online Shop

New year resolutions are going well so far..on my list was to start an online shop so as a trial I have set up a shop on ‘Folksy’ I am still adding products to my shop but I have had my first orders and some lovely comments in my first few days hooray :-).

 I am going to be setting up an Etsy and Not on the High Street shop as well – watch this space. To the right you will find a link that takes you straight to my shop.

I am looking forward to a very productive 2012… new design topics, a website and online shops coming soon.

Over the festive period this design was a good seller in greeting card and print version, it is called ‘Jade’ obviously due to the colour but also named after my best friend who lives out in NYC.

I am going to selling my goods at Made Christmas Fair at the Colston Hall on the 17th of December so come on down and get your last minute Christmas goods I say.

I don’t seem to have enough time in the day these days but I have done a few Christmas cards which will be stocked in Workshop 22, Tenderfoot and I will be selling them at Made Gift Fair. I will also be selling some screen printed greeting cards and notebooks at Smithson Gallery Pop Up Shop in Cabot Circus:

Flight Show

I was asked to join forces with two mega talents Dave Baine and Paul Farrell to create an exhibition based on birds in flight… we all worked hard for this show and the stress to get all my new work done in time was definately worth it! We could all finally relax a little once the show was hung and let the private view commence.

We had a great number of people show their support on the night and a massive thanks must go to Bryony for organising the PR and advertising for this event. The show was held in the Glass Room at the Colston Hall in Bristol, we even decorated the glass with bird decals (thanks to Paul):

Flight Exhibtion – Colston Hall

I was very happy to be invited to exhibit with the very talented Paul Farrell and Dave Bain, the exhibition will take place during August at the Colston Hall and the theme of the show is ‘birds in flight’. This is an ideal chance for me to create some brand new work on a subject I love and a chance for me to do some LARGE pieces for a change.

Arts Trail Time

It’s that time of year again.. the Southbank Arts Trail!! I will be showing my work at 20 Mount Pleasant Terrace in Southville (thanks to my sister and her hubby letting me take over their house again). Hope to see you there.

Wedding Fayre – Goldney House

I am going to be participating in a vintage wedding fayre at Goldney House, the event takes place on Sunday the 17th of April and has been organised by Sue who runs this lovely company called Aunties Vintage China (http://www.auntiesvintagechina.co.uk). I will be selling bespoke wedding stationery, here are a few examples of my designs.

 

 

These starting ideas are done in my typical bold colours but the idea will be that the happy couple (or the bride ha) can either personalise a designs from my portfolio or they can get a design created especially for their big day.

Having researched the market it is clear there is a bit of a gap in the market for affordable, unique, modern and personalised wedding invites. I will also be able to offer screen printed bunting, tealights, comments books, name cards and photo albums which can all be printed to tie in with the chosen invitations.
